SMP is a sulfomethylated phenolic resin that is a brown free-flowing powder, as HTHP fluid loss control agent in most of water based drilling fluids. it can effectively reduce filtration loss. Its recommend dosage is 7 – 18 ppb.

Application & Advantages

Application/Function
SMP controls fluid loss in most of water based drilling fluids. SMP-1 is used in fresh and gentle brackish water based muds. SMP-2 is used in high brackish water based muds.
