Function and Mechanism:
1.Chemical Action:The inhibitor's water-soluble compounds, rich in negatively charged ions, chemically bind to positively charged edges of clay or shale, preventing water ingress. This process curbs clay swelling and shale dispersion. Additionally, insoluble particles physically impede water entry, further inhibiting shale dispersion and collapse.
2. Physical Action: Asphalt's softening point, aligning with formation temperatures, reduces its water-soluble content. When encountering shale, softened asphalt flows plastically, sealing fractures. Under high temperature and pressure, asphalt forms a low-permeability filter cake, preventing shale hydration, water penetration, and collapse, safeguarding oil and gas formations.

place.
