Diutan gum DG-P

Biopolymer DG-P, analogue of Diutan gum, is a premium grade, fine mesh, rapid hydrating, water soluble biopolymer produced by carefully controlled aerobic fermentation for use in gypsum and hydraulic cementitious systems, as a viscosity modifying agent (VMA) specifically used where super pseud plasticity characteristics are required such as cementitious materials and oil and gas drilling.

Description

Description:
Biopolymer DG-P was developed specifically for use with cementitious materials and the newest class of superplasticizers. It enables formulators and designers to improve the performance of hardened materials by controlling flow, segregation, sedimentation and bleed. In addition, diutan develops a higher degree of pseud plasticity, greater low shear rate viscosity (LSRV), and improved viscosity retention at elevated temperatures when compared to traditional polymeric rheology modifiers used in drilling, workover or completion fluids.
Biopolymer DG-P is a viscosity modifying agent (VMA) specifically used where super pseudplasticity characteristics are required such as cementitious materials and oil and gas drilling.

Application & Advantages

Description

DG-P is a fine mesh, rapid hydrating, water soluble biopolymer produced
by fermentation for use in gypsum and hydraulic cementitious systems,
as a Viscosity Modifying Agent (VMA).

ØImparts high solution viscosity at low gum concentrations

ØHas pseudoplastic rheology profile (e.g., is shear thinning) providing:

llow viscosity at high shear rates ( Easy to pump & place )

lhigh viscosity at low shear rates ( Provides superb particle suspension)

ØExhibits little solution viscosity change over a wide temperature range.

Features

ØProvides excellent suspension and emulsion stability at lower viscosities.

ØImproved pumping, placement and workability.

ØControls Bleed.

ØIs stable under high-shear.

ØExhibits low viscosity while processing (e.g., pumping and spraying).

ØProvides excellent water retention.

ØImproves shelf life stability of high pH products.

Benefits

ØHomogeneous placement and curing of aggregate, sand, pigment and past.

lImproved surface properties and durability

lUniform strength

lImproves pigment efficiency and provides consistent   color quality

ØBleed control improves quality, and may reduce labor finishing   costs.

ØReduces impact of raw material variability on costs and   quality.

lReduces impact of moisture in sand and aggregate

lReduces impact of gap graded sand and aggregate

ØStabilizes highly fluid mix designs for Gypsum Systems, Self Compacting

Concrete and Underwater Concrete Systems.

Typical Application

ØGypsum floor screeds

ØSelf Compacting Concrete (SCC)

ØInjection & post tension grouts

ØPigmented concrete & gypsum   systems

ØSelf Leveling Underlayments (SLU)

ØUnderwater concrete (anti-washout)

ØPervious concrete

Typical

Use Level

Biopolymer DG-P is typically used at a level of 0.01   - 0.15 wt% basis weight of water.

Package

Dissolution
The dissolution of the product depends on the medium and the process: it is improved by heat-treatment (time, temperature), shear-stress (propeller, exchanger, homogenizer).  A complete dissolution can be obtained in cold conditions.

Packaging & Storage
DG-P is packaged in 50lb or 55lb plastic lined 4-layer paper bags and shipped via an approved common carrier. DOT classification – Non Hazardous.

Shelf Life
DG-P has a shelf life of 24 months from date of manufacture when stored in a clean dry area.
