API Grade Xanthan Gum is specially produced as mud additive for oil drilling and exploitations. Being an environment friendly and high efficiency mud additive, Oil Drilling & Exploitation Grade Xanthan Gum has an excellent tolerance to the changes of temperature, acid, alkaline and salt. Meanwhile, it can extremely increase the products penetrating ability and suspending performance to small solid materials, and reduce the pressure loss during drilling. This xanthan gum can not only fasten the well bore, but decrease the damage to oil formation. It can also greatly raise the efficiency of drilling, workover and completion. As a biotype oil driver, Oil Drilling & Exploitation Grade Xanthan Gum can improve oil extraction rate and utilization factor of natural resources. The more important point is that it can furthest protect natural environment.

Product Description
Xanthan gum is a water-soluble polysaccharide, commercially produced by a distinct fermentation process of Xanthomonas campestris, and does not contain any other polysaccharide, such as starch, guar gum or other naturally occurring polymers or their derivatives. Xanthan gum is an off-white, free flowing granular powder.
Oceanvis Xanthan gum is a premium quality biopolymer powder designed to provide maximum solids suspension and hole cleaning in vertical and highly deviated wells as well as horizontal directional drilling applications. Oceanvis Xanthan gum is a distinctive product and able to produce a thixotropic shear thinning fluid. Oceanvis also acts as a very effective mud filtrate viscosifier.

Application/Function
Viscosify fresh water and brine-based fluids used for drilling, milling, underreaming, and gravel packing operations.
Suspend bridging agents and weighting materials in fresh water and brine systems.
Advantages
Helps disperses easily in fresh water mud, and brines
Provides thixotropic properties and non-Newtonian flow characteristics over a wide salinity range at low concentrations
Provides excellent suspension without the need for clays
Minimizes the potential for formation damage
Dissolution
The dissolution of the product depends on the medium and the process: it is improved by heat-treatment (time, temperature), shear-stress (propeller, exchanger, homogenizer). A complete dissolution can be obtained in cold conditions.
Packaging & Storage
Xanthan gum is packaged in 50lb or 55lb plastic lined 4-layer paper bags and shipped via an approved common carrier. DOT classification – Non Hazardous.
Shelf Life
API xanthan gum has a shelf life of 24 months from date of manufacture when stored in a clean dry area.
